Big Help Out

The Friends of Clapham Common are organising a Community Litter Pick on Clapham Common on Monday 8th May as part of The Big Help Out to mark the Coronation.

If you wish to take part, meet by the Bandstand on Clapham Common from 11am for a couple of hours’ litter picking. The Friends will provide litter picking sticks, bags and gloves if people need them.

The Friends are also hoping to organise a couple of “mulching sessions”. Again they’ll be starting from the bandstand at 11am and then again at 12 noon.

Wheelbarrows, spades, gloves etc. will be available and they advise people to wear old clothes and shoes or boots. We’re told that this can be quite physical work and unsuitable for children.

The Friends would love people to join them! And they tell us that they usually have cake for volunteers as an added incentive.
