Macaulay School – a vacancy for a School Governor has arisen and nominations are being requested from the churches of the former Clapham Team of which CHS was one.  If you are interested in becoming a governor you need to forward a supporting statement to Fr Jeremy setting – closing date for nominations is 30 June 2008.  For further information please speak with Mtr Ruth.

 

Rev Mike Strange – died in Trinity Hospice on Wednesday 7 May.  Many of you will remember Mike from his time as Honorary Assistant Curate at Holy Trinity, Clapham.  Of late he worked at St Mary Magdalene, Wandsworth Common and as Chaplain at HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs.  His funeral takes place at 10.00am on Monday 19 May at St Mary Magdalene, Wandsworth Common.  May he rest in peace.

 

Corpus Christi – on Thursday 22 May there will be a Eucharist at 7.30pm on the Day of Thanksgiving for the Gift of Holy Communion.

 

Thursday Group – The six-session course of study for Easter 2008, In Earthen Vessels, has now been cancelled due to lack of numbers.

 

Winter Fair – A request for help.  Penny remains in charge of arrangements for the Fair but needs someone to manage the stall bookings in the run-up to 29 November, as she will be away during October.  Anyone with e-mail should be able to take on this task and Penny will provide full instructions.  If we do not get someone to help, the Fair will have to be cancelled and the church will lose out on much needed income (last year £3000).  If you are able to help please contact Penny Brooke 020 8675 4382.

 

Book Club – meets next by kind invitation of Sara on Wednesday 4 June at 8.00pm to review and discuss Storms of Silence by Joe Simpson (chosen by Sara).  New and occasional members are most welcome.
